Project 52 (9)

There's nothing super special about this photo at first glance. It's just a leaf in the grass after the sprinklers did their thing. But if you look closer...

...there are lots of cool patterns that I was able to focus in on (thanks, in part, to a coworker showing me a feature on my camera I didn't know about :P).

Have a great weekend!

  1. Very cool.
Tell me about the feature on your camera. Maybe I have it too?

  3. Of course I would know nothing about the "feature", but the intricate patterns are amazing! So much in just one small leaf!!!
    Thank you, Mom

  4. Thanks, all!

Wow, lots of interest in the "feature." :D It's nothing major, just that I didn't realize I could zoom while in live view (despite a fixed lens) so I could get a better focus on small details. Since I can't get in closer than about 18 inches from my subject, I have to make guesses at the focus. But now that I know if I'm using Live View I can zoom in on it, that helps. It doesn't crop the photo any closer, but at least I know it's sharper for when I crop it myself (as in with that second photo--it's a crop of the first).

    Does this make sense?
